Joyce Colbath Obituary

Joyce A. Colbath 80, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.

Joyce was born April 12, 1931 in Sheboygan to the late Louis and Mary (Shafer) Jakum. She graduated from North High School in 1950. On March 31, 1951 she married Richard Colbath Sr. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan.

She was a life long member of St. Dominic Catholic Parish.

Joyce was employed by National Tinsel Factory, and later for Wigwam Mills retiring in 1989 after 22 years of service. She was a life long musician, and especially enjoyed playing her Hammond B-3 organ. She played the organ for the residents of Sunny Ridge Nursing home for ten years following her mother's death.

She is survived by her husband Richard Sr., of 60 years, her son Richard Jr. (Carol) Colbath of Sheboygan, her grandchildren Rachel and Eric Colbath, and a great-granddaughter Alexandra. She is also survived by her brother Ronald Jakum of Cascade, and other in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will celebrated for Joyce Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Dominic Catholic Church. The Reverend Al Veik OFM Cap, will be the Celebrant. Friends may call on Monday, at church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.

I am so sorry for your loss, I only now noticed of your loss.
I wish that I had been there for you both.
We should stay in touch more, My wife Cindy volinteers at S Richards and we had no Idea that Joyce was there.

Dear Cousin Richard:

Our deepest sympathy & prayers go out to you for your loss. I belive I got to spend a little time with you & your family when you came to visit my mother, your sister, (MaryLou.) I remember our visit felt comfortable & very pleasant. I'm glad that I got to meet a lot of my mothers siblings. It is such a big family & not everyone lives close, but I always felt that you were all close in spirit.
