Kim Kleinschmidt Obituary

Kleinschmidt, Kim K.

Kim K. Kleinschmidt, 56, of Sheboygan, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

Kim was born September 6, 1956 in Sheboygan to Edwin and Beatrice (Van Haveren) Gabrielse.

She attended local Sheboygan schools and was a graduate of Sheboygan County Christian High, Class of 1974.

On April 27, 1979 Kim and Tim Kleinschmidt were united in marriage.

Her gift as a musician was best shown as a church organist and choir director. Her dedication and hard work was shown in the perfection of each piece she played.

Kim and Tim were both skilled artists, sharing their stained glass, fused glass and jewelry in art shows around the country. Always behind a camera, her photographs of life and nature were their own pieces of art.

She and Tim raised beautiful Irish Setters and enjoyed traveling the country to show them. Kim was particularly proud of the many awards they won. She was a mentor in Kids U.S.A. program for several years.

In addition to her husband, Tim, Kim is survived by a brother, Ken (DeAnna) Gabrielse of Luxemburg; a sister, Kathi (Mike) Brueggemann of Grafton; step-mother Patricia Gabrielse of East Grand Rapids, MI; step-sister Kimberly (Gary) Krause of East Grand Rapids, MI; nieces and nephews; other friends and family; and her beloved Irish Setters.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jay and Kevin Gabrielse; and a niece, Kara.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Hope Reformed Church. Rev. Bill TeWinkle will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name for Hope Reformed Church.

It is amazing to me how close you can get to someone you have never met face-to-face. Kim left her mark on my life that will never go away. My prayers go out to all her family and friends who are missing her. We will see her again one day and the void she left will never be filled. Our Lord's choir is sounding so much sweeter now.

Tim a candle is always lit for you at the Gateway; Deb sees to that. Kim has touched the lives of so many people all over. Her kind words of encouragement, her awsome prayers and her favorite quote; "Where two or more are gathered in My name there I am also". Her prayer warriors are lifting you in prayer daily. She will forever be missed but never forgotten. We all love you and hope to see you soon.

Kim blessed me and many others with her inspired organ playing. I enjoyed so much hearing her play and also planning worship with her. May God's promises comfort you. "We are not our own but belong to our faithful Savior."

Kim will be so missed as a Kids Hope USA mentor at Grant School. Kim took very special care of the students she mentored and made them feel very special and helped them to be successful. Kim and our friends at Hope Reformed "adopted" a whole group of Grant School children from the neighborhood and involved them in Sunday School and VBS. Kim seemed to have an infinite capacity to love and care for our kids who are most in need. Her long-time student has relocated to another school this fall and Kim was prepared to follow him there as his mentor as well as to take on another little one who would blossom under her care. We miss Kim already. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Tim.

I was shocked to hear of Kim's passing. She was the kind of friend who was always respectful of my thoughts and really thought about any advice given when we talked. She was also a wonderful photographer, she sent me the most beautiful set of pictures of my dog from the day he won in MN in August 2006, taken while she sat ringside. I attach one of the pictures here. I will miss seeing her. My thoughts are with her husband Tim and hope he can find peace. My condolences to all of Kim's family.

Kim truly enjoyed her Irish Setters and traveling with Tim to show them. Her joy at their accomplishments could be seen in her beautiful smile. It was always fun to be sitting with her while they were in the ring. We didn't see each other real often but when we did we talked about our dogs and shared our experiences. Many hugs to Tim and I hope that all those that loved Kim will be able to comfort him at this time. May the Shamrocks Fall Softly..
