Norbert Meinnert Obituary

Norbert O. Meinnert, age 77, of Sheboygan Falls passed away on Tuesday evening, March 27, 2012 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center.

Norbert was born on May 26, 1934 in the town of Sheboygan Falls, a son of the late William and Eliza (Hinz) Meinnert. He attended the Prange School. On November 3, 1956, he was united in marriage to Jeanette Maeuser. For a brief time, he was employed at the Kohler Company prior to dairy farming in rural Sheboygan Falls. He always enjoyed his family and took pride in attending his grandchildren's activities. A good game of cards with friends was always welcome.

Norbert was an active member of the First Reformed Church of Sheboygan Falls. When he had previously been a member of Immanuel U.C.C. he served there on the Consistory. He was also a member of the Johnsonville Fire Department and the Wisconsin Farm Bureau.

Norbert is survived by his wife, Jeanette; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Carol Meinnert of rural Sheboygan Falls, and Stanley and Sharleen Meinnert of rural Elkhart Lake; five grandchildren and great-granddaughter, Eric (Samantha) Meinnert and their daughter, Grace, Julie and Tyler Meinnert, Stephanie Meinnert (special friend, Adam Mezera) and Scott Meinnert; his brothers and sisters, Anita Derlein of Sheboygan, Dorothy (Harold) Grunewald of Howards Grove, Walter Meinnert of Howards Grove, Milton (Luella) Meinnert of rural Sheboygan Falls, Harold Meinnert of School Hill and Alice (Roger) Thomas of rural Sheboygan Falls; his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Meinnert of Plymouth and Diana Meinnert of rural Sheboygan Falls; brothers-in-law, Eugene (Laverne) Maeuser of Cleveland and Carl (Judy) Maeuser of rural Elkhart Lake. Nieces, nephews and other family members further survive. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Helen (Lawrence) Klemme; brothers, Willard and Marvin Meinnert; a brother-in-law, Richard Derlein; and sisters-in-law, LaVerne and Marlene Meinnert.

A funeral service for Norbert will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 31 at the First Reformed Church of Sheboygan Falls, 527 Giddings Ave., with Pastor Brad Veenendaal officiating. Burial will follow in the Immanuel U.C.C. Cemetery. Family and friends may gather at the Novak-Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12 St., on Friday evening from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.
