Pa Yang Obituary
St. Paul, MN - Pa Nhia Danielle Yang, 37, of St. Paul, MN, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 in St. Cloud, MN following a tragic accident.
Born February 28, 1981 in Laos, Pa Nhia was a daughter of Houa Wa Yang and Neng Her. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1999. She continued her education at U.W. Madison with a degree in family social science and obtained her Master's degree.
Pa Nhia was a research associate for the Wilder Foundation in the Twin Cities. She contributed to numerous projects through the data collection unit, administering surveys, doing focus groups, and coordinating many aspects of the research process. Outside her regular duties, she was much loved by her coworkers and coached and mentored many others inside and outside of Wilder. Among her many activities, she volunteered with the Youth Leadership Initiative, served as club president for Toastmasters International, and co-facilitated Hmong Women's Leadership Institute with Hnub Tshiab: Hmong Women Achieving Together. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Episcopal Church in Sheboygan.
She is survived by her parents, Houa Wa Yang and Neng Her, Sheboygan; her siblings, Dustin, Sheboygan, Deanna (Sung Lak Choi), South Korea, Denise, Sheboygan, and Doris, Sheboygan; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Pa Kou Yang, her brothers, Leng and David Yang, and her grandparents, Xia Vue Yang and Yee Vue.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Grace Episcopal Church, 630 Ontario Avenue, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue, on Saturday, September 8th from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., again on Sunday September 9th from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and on Monday at Grace Episcopal Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Inurnment will take place in the Garden of Grace Columbarium.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Pa Nhia's arrangements.

I miss Pa Nhia! She was my co-worker but also a friend. A fun loving, sweet, caring, and dependable soul. I will miss our bantering, days over lunch, collaborating on projects involving cultural communities, and singing duets at karaoke. There are many things we shared that I will miss, but through it all, I pray I will be reminded to remember Silver Flower with a smile in my heart.
