Richard Reinthaler Obituary

Reinthaler, Richard "Dick" F.

Richard F. Reinthaler, "Dick" age 82 of Sheboygan, Wisconsin passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.

Richard was born on August 18, 1934 in Sheboygan to George and Lucile (Rech) Reinthaler. He was united in marriage to Donna Jost on August 30, 1958 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers, WI. Dick proudly served our country in the Army. He enjoyed his life long career as a painter, working for Dave Dahmer and Klaus Michaletz. Richard also was a long time member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Sheboygan where he was active on the maintenance board and served as an usher. Dick was a member of the Painters Union and Catholic Foresters. He loved hunting in his younger years and also loved miniature bowling, reading, playing cards, working out in his yard and gardening, and most of all spending time with his family and his cherished granddaughter, Shannon.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Donna Reinthaler; loving children, James Reinthaler of Appleton and Ann (Scott) Strysick of Sheboygan; cherished granddaughter, Shannon (friend, Caleb Senkbeil) Strysick; dear siblings, Robert (Janice) Reinthaler, Tom (Helen) Reinthaler, both of Sheboygan; and dear sisters-in-law, Betty (Robert) Bonk of Manitowoc and Almarie Reinthaler of Mountain Home, AR. He is further survived by many loved cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Stan Reinthaler; sister, Barbara (Jerry) Krueger; his infant daughter, Debbie Ann Reinthaler and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Isabel and Nick Jost.

A Memorial Mass for Richard will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church (824 Superior Ave, Sheboygan) with Fr. Matthew Widder officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, at the church, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Military Honors will follow the Mass.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan.

I remember all the good times I had with Dick's sister Barb at their home. Dick and the boys were always there with us. Playing cards with "Ma 7& Pa" and having lunch after. Raccoon in gravy with rye bread.. YUM Dick was the 'big' brother and there were many times after those days that we got together. Old timers at Smerke's. Dick was always a kind and thoughtful man. I know he'll be missed terribly. Donna, I'm so sorry for your loss.
