Robert Shimkoski Obituary
Robert Shimkoski, age 85 of Sheboygan passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012. Robert was born January 15, 1927 in Oconto Falls, WI. He married La Verne Trempe on September 2, 1961 at Immanuel Lutheran in Sheboygan. Robert proudly served his nation in the U.S. Marine Corp. during WWII. Robert then worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad as a telegrapher for nine years and for Sheboygan Falls Die Cast for 32 years. He served on the Board of Directors of La-Tec Credit Union for 20 years. Robert loved to golf and got a hole in one at Rhinelander's Northwood Golf Course on July 28, 1998. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed the outdoors, bowling with the senior league at Maple Lanes and listening to Polka music. Survivors include his wife LaVerne, son Ryan Shimkoski of Sheboygan, daughter and son-in-law Brenda (Dennis) Doherty of Plymouth, grandchildren McKenna Shimkoski, Jordan and Colin Doherty.
Family and friends may call at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, (Novak-Ramm-Ziegler) 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan on Monday from 2-4 P.M. Funeral service will be held 4 P.M. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Adam Scheblein of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sheboygan officiating. Burial will take place in the Lutheran Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in Robert's name for Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sheboygan.

I enjoyed bowling with Bob for several years at Maple Lanes, on Monday Nights. I remember him as being typical of his generation, a hard working straight shooter (with a nice hook on his bowling ball). We shared many nice conversations at bowling. I am sorry for your loss.
