Todd Hunter Obituary

Hunter, Todd (1960-2014)

Todd Hunter, age 53, of Plymouth, passed away late Monday afternoon (March 17) after an 8 year battle with cancer. He died peacefully at home with his loving family by his side.

Todd was born on April 26, 1960 in Chamberlain, SD, a son of William and Willene (Wells) Hunter. Todd and his family moved around South Dakota during his grade school years. He graduated from Sioux Falls Lincoln High School in 1978. He furthered his education with a BS Degree in Dairy Science from South Dakota State University in 1982 and a Master's Degree from Concordia University in 2007.

Todd worked in the dairy and cheese business his entire career and felt very fortunate to have been able to work for the "Best Cheese Company", Sargento Foods, Inc., until the time of his death.

Todd was united in marriage to Barbara Rudden on July 29, 1989 and was blessed with four wonderful children. More than anything Todd loved supporting and following all his kids school and sporting endeavors. He loved hitting golf balls at the range or in the net, throwing the football in the backyard, cheering the teams on at the football field, softball diamond or swimming pool, cheering the Panthers on Friday nights or whenever the basketball team played, and even proofreading college essays or working through high school homework problems.

Todd also enjoyed working in his shop and on his yard when time allowed. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Todd is survived by his wife: Barb, four children: Zachary, Joshua, Stephanie and William; mother: Willene Hunter of Sioux Falls, SD; siblings: Terri Hunter of Sioux Falls, SD, Lori (Rod) Josephsen of Arlington, SD, Lisa (Paul) von Fisher of Overgaard, AZ, David (Becky) Hunter of Groton, SD and Keena (Joe) Flock of Sioux Falls, SD; mother-in-law: Carol Rudden of Escanaba, MI; sister-in-laws: Debbie (Dale) Mokszycke of Escanaba, MI, Sheri (John) Gasparick of Little Chute, WI and Hope Rudden of Escanaba, MI; brother-in-laws: Jerry (Dana) Rudden of Marquette, MI and Greg Rudden (Fiancée: Terri) of Escanaba, MI. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father: William Hunter; father-in-law: Glen Rudden and sister-in-law: Lorna Hunter.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday afternoon (March 22) at 12:00 Noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Father Dan Volkert, pastor of the church will officiate. Cremation will follow the services.

Friends may call at the CHURCH on Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Todd's name.
