Stephen Harry Webb, 74, of Needham, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 on the family farm. He was born on January 5, 1949 in Franklin, Indiana to Harry Webb, Jr. and Pauline (Overstreet) Webb.
A 1967 graduate of Franklin High School, he was also a graduate of Purdue University, where he studied Agronomy. He met Connie Edwards while at Purdue, where they were both members of the Purdue Baptist Student Foundation. They were married on January 29, 1972, and they established the family farm at that time. He is survived by his wife, and their children Heather Webb (Brad Tribble) and Ed Webb; grandchildren Tim Tribble, Zachary Tribble (Mickayla), Natalie Tribble, Mia Tribble and Tilly Webb. He was preceded in passing by his parents. Steve loved farming.
He was often an early adopter of new farming practices that cared for the land, and he never missed an opportunity to educate others about both farming and land stewardship. As a former member of the Shelby County Soil and Water Conservation District, he had ample opportunities to work on programs and initiatives that supported land stewardship.
A current member of Franklin First Baptist Church, he had also been a faithful longtime member of Second Mt. Pleasant Church. Steve enjoyed reading, often choosing biographies or historic novels, and he also enjoyed afternoon drives in his convertible. But many of his most enjoyable moments were spent with his grandchildren, as he truly loved being a Granddaddy.
A private family graveside service will be held, as that was Steve's preference. Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Interchurch Food Pantry of Johnson County, 211 Commerce Drive, Franklin, IN. 46131. Expressions of caring and kindness may be received to the family at www. flinnmaguire.net.

Connie, Ed and Heather,
We are so sorry and shocked. We cherish the times we spent with the four of you. Aaron and Emily loved all the tractor rides. However, at one time Aaron thought he wanted to be a farmer. Those tractor rides changed his mind! Steve was a great friend! We’re praying for your whole family. Sincerely, Phil and Doris

Connie, so sorry.
Steve, my brother, and I watched the landing on the moon, broadcast from a tiny TV set up on the east porch of now Phil's house.
Late, late at night.
Steve helped make it memorable by being there.
