Eugene Arrowood Obituary

EUGENE ARROWOOD

SHELBY-Eugene (Gene) Sibley Arrowood, 85, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at Carillon Assisted Living.

He was born March 22, 1930, in Cleveland County. He served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He was a lifelong member of Shelby Presbyterian Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife Nancy Keller Arrowood, his parents, Leonidus Ulrich Arrowood and Maude Mabry Arrowood, and his son Charles Gilbert Arrowood.

Mr. Arrowood is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Arrowood Carroll and husband Jack of Chattanooga, Tenn., Laura Arrowood Gibbs and husband Jeff of Suwanee, Ga., three grandchildren, Jack Thomas Carroll, III of Atlanta, Ga., Laura Carroll Taylor and husband Jesse of Chattanooga, Tenn., Elizabeth Mabry Gibbs of Atlanta, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in Ellis Hall.

Memorial service for Mr. Arrowood will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at Shelby Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Luke Harkey.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to The Shelby Presbyterian Church, 226 E. Graham St. Shelby, NC 28150 or Black Mountain Home for Children, Youth, and Families, 80 Lake Eden Road Black Mountain, NC 28711.
