Inez Shade Obituary
LAWNDALE - Mrs. Ruth Inez Hunter Shade, 89, of 152 Schenck Farm Road, departed this life on Monday, June 28, 2010, at her home.
She was born June 3, 1921, in Cleveland County, to the late Aaron and Ella Brooks Hunter. Mrs. Shade was a faithful member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She retired from Granite Line in Hickory, where she worked for 17 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Shade Sr.; a son, Tommy Lee Shade; five brothers, Thomas Hunter, Marshall Hunter, Joseph Hunter, Edward Hunter and Mack Morrison; and one sister, Lois Morrison.
Left to cherish loving memories of her are her four children, Paul Shade Jr. and Warren D. Shade, both of the home, Edna Schenck (Phil) of Shelby and Pat Kirkland of Conyers, Ga.; four sisters-in-law, Modell Hunter of Charlotte, Evie Shade of Lawndale, Edna Harrington (Bruce) of Ellenboro and Allene Morrison of Charlotte; one brother-in-law, Yours Shade of Ellen-boro; 16 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral: Friday, July 2, 2 p.m., Philadelphia United Methodist Church; Mrs. Shade will also be available for view on Thurs-day, July 1, 1 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Officiated by: The Rev. Nathaniel Craig
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour before the service, at the church.
