J.W. Turner Obituary
Born Jan. 13, 1929, in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late John Martin Turner and Flossie Hoyle Turner. He was retired as an independent sales rep for Ladies Apparel. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a sergeant in the Army during the Korean conflict.
Mr. Turner is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris Lattimore Turner; three sons, Martin Cline Turner of Shelby, Derrik Wesley Turner and wife, Cona, of Mt. Holly and Richard Stephen Turner and wife, Patti, of Shelby; a daughter, Lora T. Donoghue and husband, Michael, of Charlotte; two brothers, Max and Charles Turner, both of Shelby; eleven grandchildren, Shannon, Dina, Amanda, Heather, Jesse, David, Josh, Charleah, Dustin, Elizabeth and Emily; and three great-grandchildren Alex, Cheyenne and Makayla.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 14 at Stamey Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral: Monday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m., at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes before the service.
Burial: Rose Hill Memorial Park
