Jessie Goins Obituary

JESSIE GOINS
Jessie Lee Church Hayes Goins, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, 80, of Shelby, NC, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015, at Wendover Hospice House. Born March 3, 1935, in Cleveland County, Mrs. Goins was the daughter of the late Claude Herman Church and Pearl Bridges Church.
Mrs. Goins was a Charter Member of Living Light Baptist Church. She was known as "Maw Maw Jessie" to many. Jessie was a retired nurse of 33 years of service from Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by a husband, John B. Hayes; a husband, Samuel (Whitey) Goins Jr.; a brother, Herman Allen Church; a sister, Patricia Church Cornwell; a stepdaughter, Marilyn Christine Goins; a granddaughter, Crystal Michelle Wright; and a great-grandson, Noah Alexander Whaley.
She is survived by two sisters, Emily Fowler of Shelby, NC and Diane Price of Ball Ground, GA; a brother, Mike Church and wife Barbara of Shelby, NC; three daughters, Donna Hayes Respess and husband D.J. of Shelby, NC, Vicky Hayes Parker and husband Hugh Lee of Casar, NC and Sherrie Hayes Houck and husband Clyde of Shelby, NC; a son, John DeLane Hayes and wife Betty of Memphis, TN; two stepsons, Danny Goins and Rodney Goins and wife Tracy, both of Shelby, NC; seven grandchildren, Rev. Randall Wright and wife Tracy, Jennifer Morris and husband Clay , Samuel Hayes, David Parker and wife Jennifer, Sherrie Kay Whaley, Lee Clary and fiancé Jennifer Huneycutt and Josh Houck and wife Ashley; nineteen great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2015, at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel and other times at the homes of Donna Respess and Sherrie Houck.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Living Light Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Hayes and Rev. Randall Wright, Jr. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Living Light Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1382, Shelby, NC 28151.

She baby sitted me and my two little brothers, Parker & Carson, for years. We loved our mawmaw Jessie!! She was a wonderful woman of God, she loved us as if we were her own grandkids.
