John Logan Obituary

JOHN LOGAN

GROVER- Mr. John Henry Logan, 62, of 102 Grier St., Grover, was born July 20, 1954, in Kings Mountain, N.C., to the late Gatchet and Lois Logan. He entered into eternal rest on Oct. 19, 2016. John slept away peacefully as his family was by his side.

He was a member of St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully as an Usher, Trustee, and Sunday school student. John worked at Eaton Corporation in Grover, for over 16 years.

John was a no nonsense type of guy but had a huge heart of gold. Some of his favorite pastimes included: fishing, traveling, having a fish fry for family and friends, and watching his favorite team, The Dallas Cowboys. John especially loved his children and grandchildren and would often be heard bragging on them and their accomplishments. He supported them in all that they were involved with, and would jump at their request to come to their school, join in on a field trip, or participate in anything that they asked.

John's loving and devoted wife Mary Ann was John's heartbeat. He laughed with her and loved her tremendously. John and Mary's special love was one that was grounded in God, and will be forever remembered as one beautiful journey.

Preceding John in death were his father, Gatchet Logan, mother, Lois Logan, and brother, Gatchet Logan Jr.

Left to cherish his fondest memories: his devoted wife of 40 years, Mary Ann Logan, two children Sireco Logan of the home, and Mychuwan Terika Logan (Everett) of Ft. Washington, Md. four grandchildren; Sireca Logan, Sirrea Logan, Sireco Logan, and Maya Buchanan, four sisters, Mrs. Hattie Mae Neely of York, S.C., Mrs. Barbara Ann Campbell (Lee) of Baltimore, Md.; Ms. Diane Wilson of Rutherford; Mrs. Carolyn Butler (William) of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, Hazel Logan (Gearldine) of Kings Mountain, and Charles Logan (Diane) of Shelby; four aunts, Rosia Lee Reid McDowell of Charlotte; Mary Ann Reid Bolds of Cheverly, Md.; Lula Reid, and Seal Reid of Hickory Grove, S.C.; special friends; Sean and Nicole Cornelius, and Silas Gist, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2 p.m., on Sunday, at the church, and at other times at the home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor William Thompson.

Burial will take place at the church cemetery.
