LUCINDA WEBBER

SHELBY- Ms. Lucinda "Cindy" Webber, 82, of 171 Camden Court, Shelby, departed this life on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Carolinas HealthCare System-Cleveland in Shelby. She was born on Nov. 3, 1933, in Cleveland County, N.C., to the late Eugene Webber, Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Hoyle Webber.

"Cindy" which she was called by many grew up in the Flat Rock Community in Shelby and was a graduate of Cleveland High School. She was employed throughout the years with Sterches Furniture Store until their closing and with K-Mart for approximately 25 years. In addition she worked for various families including Dr. Beasley, Kenneth and Hilda Keever, Mike and Debbie Griffin, Albert and Betty Petty and the Grembecki family.

Cindy joined Roberts Tabernacle Church at an early age and joined Shiloh Baptist Church for an interim serving on the usher boards at both churches. She later joined Faith Harvest Church where she was presently a member and thought highly of her pastor.

Cindy loved music and loved to dance. She was a fun-loving person who was an excellent joke teller. She loved watching football games her favorite teams being the Shelby High Golden Lions and the Carolinas Panthers. She was a regular at many of the Shelby High Friday night football games cheering them on. In addition, she loved being around her grandbabies.

Also preceding her in death was one sister, Edna Webber Thompson.

She leaves to cherish precious memories of her, two devoted daughters, Telecia Meeks (James) and Tina Webber both of Shelby; one step-daughter, Gina Farr (Randy) of Gastonia; one brother, Eugene Webber, Jr. (Pearl) of Shelby; one granddaughter, Cicely Pomey (Lem) of Shelby; three great-grandchildren, Jalenn Farrar, Mylyn Pompey and Karis Pompey; a brother-in-law, George Thompson of Charlotte; a god-son and god-daughter, Andrew Brown of Kings Mountain, and Anita Artis of Shelby; special friends, Joyce Smith and Daniel Nance; three nieces; one nephew and a host of cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1 p.m., on Friday, and at other times at the home of her daughter, Telecia Meeks, 1508 Chatfield Road, Shelby.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, April 8, 2016, at Faith Harvest Church, officiated by Bishop Randy Borders.

Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
