Martha Gaston

SHELBY - Martha Ann Stevenson Gaston, 54, of 318 East Sumter Street, departed this life on March 15, 2014, at White Oak Manor of Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was born July 17, 1959, was previously employed at Bridges Barbecue Lodge for about 30 years and was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant before that. She attended Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to read and was an avid NASCAR fan. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Mr. Guy and Ella Jane Roseboro Stevenson; a daughter, Monica Camille Stevenson; a sister, Mrs. Mary Jan Stevenson Phillips; and two brothers, Ray Stevenson and Ted Louis Stevenson.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, a longtime companion, Namon Carlton Jr. of the home; a son, Montreal Gaston of Shelby; four grandsons, Montreal Gaston Jr., K'Andre and DeAndre Stevenson, and DeVante Stevenson; one granddaughter, Essence Stevenson; one brother, Hasker Stevenson (Lorene); a sister-in-law, Marjorie Stevenson, all of Shelby; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation: The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
Funeral service: 3 p.m. Friday at Macedonia Baptist Church, Waco
