WAYNE LAIL

BOILING SPRINGS- Wayne Lail, age 68, of Boiling Springs, N.C., passed away Sept.9, 2016, at his residence.

Born June 8, 1948, in Cleveland County, N.C., he was the son of the late O.G. Lail and Rose Lail. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie, Steve, Herbert, and Ralph Lail; brother-in-law, Irvin Pearson.

Mr. Lail was a United States Army veteran and a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. He retired as an electronics technician from Bellsouth Telephone Company and after retirement he was the owner of Falcon Fire and Safety, Inc. Wayne was a scout master for 15 years for Troop #117 of Boiling Springs.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Joyce Trexler Lail; sons, Steve Lail and wife Lois of Salem, Va., Michael Lail of Shelby; daughter, Julie Smith and husband Patrick of Shelby; brother, Jerry J. Lail and wife Mary; sister, Nellie Pearson; sister-in-law, Peggy Lail; grandsons, Thomas Lail of Little Rock AFB, Ark., Austin Wayne Lail of Ft. Myers, Fla., McLane Lail of Salem, Va., Dustin Lail of Shelby, Vince and Lane Parker of Shelby; granddaughters, Amber Boyd of Salem, Va., Emilee Smith of Shelby; and great-granddaughter, Landree Hunt. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews and his little dog, Stanley.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 5 p.m., Sunday, at the church prior to the service.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, at Flint Hill Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Shane Kirby and Jerry Lovelace.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at Cleveland Memorial Park.
