Elva Cavazos Obituary
Elva G. Cavazos, age 79, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas with her family by her side. Elva was born on February 11,1946, to Olimpio and Olivia Q. Garcia. She graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1965. After raising three children, she entered the workforce serving the Corpus Christi Independent School District for 23 years at Garcia Elementary School.
She will always be remembered for her laughter, devotion to her family and loyalty to Jehovah God. Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on January 6, 1974, in Laredo, Texas, she faithfully served Jehovah throughout her lifetime. She always considered it a privilege to come to know Jehovah God and to teach others about Bible truths.
Elva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a faithful servant of Jehovah God.
Elva is preceded in death by her parents Olimpio and Olivia Q. Garcia, her brothers Raul Q. Garcia, Octavio Q. Garcia, and Israel Q. Garcia, and her daughter-in-law Graciela Martinez De Cavazos.
Elva is survived by her husband of 59 ½ years, Frank G. Cavazos, her children Pete G. Cavazos (Alejandra H.), Debra A. Rodriguez (Andres, Jr.), and Frank G. Cavazos, III, her grandchildren Jesus Christian Saenz, Tristan Alec Cavazos, Emilia Isabela Cavazos, and Mirella Ariel Cavazos, sister Lydia G. Rodriguez, sisters-in-law Margarita M. Garcia and Janie L. Garcia, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A memorial service, including a Bible talk, will be held at 1:00 PM that same day with an interment to follow at Rosehill Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Jesus Christian Saenz, Tristan Alec Cavazos, Aaron Garcia, Timothy Rodriguez, Israel Q. Garcia, Jr., and Joel Garcia.
Honorary pallbearers are Frank G. Cavazos, Pete G. Cavazos, Frank G. Cavazos, III and Andres Rodriguez, Jr.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses at Houston Methodist Hospital for their compassionate care and professional support during her time of need.
