Dear Hoeker Family; I am so saddened by the passing of your husband and Dad. I remember Fred from school; always so full of life and joy. He certainly lit up a room when he came in.
Sending prayers and hugs.

During the summer between 8th and 9th grades, Fred rowed all the way to Maple Grove twice to pick me up and take me out on the lake. One time he even brought me (wild)flowers and helped my mom bring in her groceries from the car. A true gentleman! I guess you could say he was my first date. ;) May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Fred and I were friends for over 50 years. Words cannot describe his ability to make whomever he met a friend. His leadership in Scouting was inspiring to many young men. Godspeed my friend.

It was such an honor to have known such a genuine man. The biggest heart you'd ever imagine. Always had a joke, a hug, or an ear. I enjoyed the times my family and I were lucky enough to have.

Fred showed me how important it is to be a mentor of young men in Scouting to live with great values, hard work, always encouraging success and most importantly living the Scout oath and law. He truly made a positive impact in many lives. Our world is a better place because of Fred´s leadership and mentoring.

I will never forget the first time I met Fred. He walked up to registration tent at The Sandy Corley Memorial Run (they volunteered) and I get in the deep voice THE HOOKERS are here --Deb just smiled. I am sure you said that same thing walking thru the pearly gates so that they all know you arrived!!!!
