Michelle Mier Obituary

Michelle Lee Mier, 67, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on June 12, 2024.

Born on January 2, 1957, in Ludington, Michigan, Michelle was the beloved daughter of Wayne Hagman and Arlene Barrett.

Michelle cherished her roles as a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and friend. Her home and kitchen table were always open to others. Thanksgivings were spent serving others and organizing community dinners for those without loved ones to share the holidays with. Michelle approached life with curiosity and resilience, navigating through changing times with grace. She held a deep love for folk singer-songwriters and was known for effortlessly reciting song lyrics, a passion she instilled in her children. Resourceful and determined, she guided her children to pursue their dreams fearlessly.

Michelle is preceded in death by her husband Peter Mier, sister Maxine Rood, mother Arlene, and father Wayne. She is survived by children Emmanuelle, Hannah, Christopher (Kelly), Benjamin (Elisabeth), and Rebeckah (Michael), grandson Julian, siblings Patricia Kooy and Ronald Barrett, and adoptive father, Raymond Barrett.

Michelle's interment will be at the Pere Marquette Cemetery in Ludington.

Donations in her name to the Ronald McDonald House are appreciated.
