Carol Huff Obituary

Carol Huff

Stonewall - Surrounded by her family, Carol Galloway Huff passed away peacefully on December 29, 2020. She was born February 6, 1938, in Afton, TX, to Robert Calvin Galloway and Barbara Liles Galloway. Carol graduated from Oak Grove (Stanley High School) Class of 1956. She earned a scholarship to Centenary College, but instead chose to marry the love of her life, Buford Lee Huff of Logansport, LA. They celebrated 64 happy years of marriage in November. Carol was a member of the North DeSoto Church of Christ where she was a lifelong Bible student. She shared her knowledge with others and led many to Christ. Her greatest legacy is her family. As a loving wife, tough love mother, and doting grandmother, Carol will be remembered for long nature walks in the woods and boisterous family Christmases. She was proud that her descendants could easily identify birds, flowers, and trees. Carol was a gifted seamstress, an avid gardener, a lover of crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and a devoted fan of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She loved cooking for others and back porch visiting.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters - Grace Waldon; RC Galloway, Jr.; Kate Parks; Elvin Galloway; Olin Galloway; Bonnie (Bud) Galloway; Willie Parker; Jim Galloway; Fern Golden Keeling; Doris Hill; Dottie McDaniels; Gyndel Galloway (infant); and Juanell Hughes. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Buford L. Huff; three children - Norman David Huff and wife Carolyn of Bethany, Sherry Shockley and husband David of Stonewall, Charlotte Miller and husband Billy of Grand Cane; nine grandchildren - Sherri Lindsey (Tony), Jacob Huff, Rodney Huff (Brooke), Nathan Huff (Ginger), Beth Shockley Bennett (Brad), Daniel Shockley, Kerry Shockley, Benjamin Huff, and Eric Miller; 11 great-grandchildren - Elise, Tony Jr., Zachary, Patrick, Ella, Colton, Levi, Wyatt, Waylon, Sophia, and Kylo; sister Pat Arbuckle, brothers-in-law Joe Hughes and Norman Arbuckle, and sister-in-law Jeannine Arbuckle, all of Logansport; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 1, 2021, and the funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on January 2, 2021, both at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA 71118. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, in Stanley, LA. Honoring her as pallbearers will be her grandchildren - Beth Bennett; Daniel and Kerry Shockley; Rodney, Nathan, and Benjamin Huff; and Eric Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren.

Dear Huff Family, i am so very sorry to hear of Carol's passing. She was such a wonderful inspiration to all who knew her. I especially enjoyed the years of working at Camp Bluebird until caring for my Mom took my attention away. Carol will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Love
