Charles Thomas Acurio

Bossier City, La - Charles Thomas Acurio of Bossier City, LA passed from this earth on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Benton, LA. Officiating will be Father Karl Daigle with concelebrant Msgr. Charlie met Barbara O'Neill in 1956 in Hollywood, FL and they married in 1957. They moved their young family from Florida to the Shreveport /Bossier area in 1964 to run Empire Electronics. He subsequently struck out on his own to form several other successful businesses including Actron Electronics where he manufactured cathode ray picture tubes for global distribution. He sold Actron to Video Display Corporation in 1986, where Charlie continued to work as General Manager until his retirement in 2014. His business was his life and he instilled in his children a work ethic that was unsurpassed. Also unsurpassed, his strong will and desire to be independent until the very end. A fan of Frank Sinatra, his favorite song was 'My Way'.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore and Espirina Acurio; his eldest son Charles Acurio and sister-in-law, Dolores Acurio. We cherish the fact that they are now joyfully reunited.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara O'Neill Acurio of Bossier City; son, Dr. Michael T. Acurio and Courtney Batts of Benton, LA; daughter, Michelle Acurio Kyle and husband, Kevin of Houston. TX. Dear Chuck, Mike, & Michelle:
I love ya'll and my heart goes out to you during this time. Chuck, had to include you my friend as you are finally joined with your heavenly father and your worldly father. That is a trifecta we all seek one day. Have to say I am a bit jealous right now. Mike and Michelle, hold on tightly to those peaceful memories of times passed until once again Daddy can give you a loving hug.
