Danny Porter Obituary

SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Mr. Danny Dee Porter will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside Chapel, Friday, July 22, 2011, at 5 p.m. The family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. in the chapel.
Mr. Porter was born on March 30, 1952 and passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011. He was a flooring business owner, loved to play baseball and was a highly respected member of APA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Erwin Porter.
He is survived by his mother, Perry Porter; sisters, Donna Hoffman & husband Randall, and Debbie Bradshaw & husband Buck; children, Jody Porter & wife Deana, Brandy Ragon, Winter Buklad, and Mickey Porter & fianc? Katie Reardon; step-daughter, Daphine Brown and her children Cameron Craven & Felecia Buklad; grandchildren, Quintin Porter, Skyler Porter, and Lane Porter; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers are Jerry "Mann" Irvin, Tray Futch, Mikey Wheatley, Dewayne Wallace, Robbie Magee, Matt Goff, Aaron Rogers, and Joseph Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Jody Porter and Mickey Porter.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the WKB CCU Team, especially to Chris, Noelle and Hansel, who went above & beyond. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name, to the American Heart Association or American Poolplayers Association.

Dan walked that last mile with such dignity & grace. His friends & family walked that last mile with him. I think he taught us all how it should be done. We will always remember this wonderful man.

I love you Dan and had such a great time playing together on a team in league with you. You were a great teacher and coach. Steven and I will miss you very much and will see you one day again. I love you so much Daddy and it is killing me that you are gone. It doesn't feel real, it feels like a horrible dream that I cannot wake up from. I am grateful that you are not in any more pain but it hurts us all that you are gone. I never realized how much this would hurt and how I just wish I could hug you again and hear you call me "baby girl" again. I will never forget what a great man you were and Lane will never go a day without knowing how much his PawPaw loved him. We love and miss you so much Daddy.

A very nice man, who loved his work and made sure it was a good job.
He talked about his family and was concerned with his health problems. He will be miss by many who came to know him.

It comforts me knowing your up there giving my Daddy some company, tell him stories about us, for he never knew me as an adult!. I love you so much, and miss you more than I thought I could!.
