Eric Bantle Obituary

Memorial services for Ric Bantle will be held Saturday, October 16, 1 p.m., at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Drive. Visitation will begin at noon and a private family interment will immediately follow. Ric died peacefully at his Richland, Washington home.

Ric was born October 29, 1957, in Shreveport, Louisiana. A 1975 Southwood High School graduate, he attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. He graduated in 1979 with a degree in Construction Management and Engineering Technology. An accomplished tuba player, Ric earned band positions at both schools. Music was always a passion, and countless hours were spent with friends listening to his favorites. Also, he was a member of the LA Tech skydiving team.

After graduating, Ric worked in the construction industry for more than 30 years as an estimator and project manager. While living in Illinois, he was a member of the Chatham, Illinois, Jaycees and coached several athletic teams for his children.

Ric was preceded in death by his father, Al Bantle, of Shreveport, Louisiana. He is survived by his daughter, Erica Bantle, and son, Reed Bantle, both of Chatham, Illinois; mother, Doris Bantle, of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sisters, Vanessa Shadix and her husband, Mike Shadix, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Valerie Liles and her husband, Mike Liles, of Haughton, Louisiana. He is also survived by his brother, Carl Bantle and his wife, Angel Bantle, of Bossier City, Louisiana; and many nephews and niece.

Quiet and reserved, Ric was a man of few words. He loved his family and friends unconditionally and completely. His faith was true and his bible never far from his side. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him---May he forever rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
