Frank Allen Obituary

Frank Arthur Allen

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - A Memorial Service for Frank Arthur Allen will be held at 12 pm Saturday, July 11th at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Richard J. Lombard officiating. Frank Arthur Allen, 57, passed away in Corpus Christi, Texas on July 7th. He was born in Shreveport on February 18, 1952 to Almer L. and Irene Moore Allen. Frank was their only child and was called their "miracle baby". He was a devoted, deeply loving husband and father. He was an accomplished machinist and Quality Assurance Supervisor for these companies: WKM, Riley-Beaird, Rockwell International, and Boeing. Frank had a passion for tinkering with things and could fix almost anything, even rescuing things out of the junk pile and restoring them to working order. His hobbies and interests included: working with the Red River Valley Railroad Historical Society to rebuild train engines and cars; helping his community and friends as a member of the Knights of Columbus, Broadmoor Council; being a proud member of the NRA. Frank's life story was one of a "self-taught" man, always striving to become better and to continue learning. He will be remembered by his servant hood, how he would always go out of his way to help others. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Claire Slattery Allen, and daughter, Megan Claire Allen.

As in II Timothy 4:7 let it be said that Frank has run the good race with passion and endurance, and was received into Heaven on July 7, 2009 by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with a "Well done, my good and faithful servant." He will be deeply loved and missed by all who were blessed enough to cross his path.

Margaret;
I am one of Joe's friends from the library. You and I were friends when I came to the bank on Youree and at the Willis Knighton fitness center. I have kept up with your family through all the moves and ups and downs because Joe and I worked together at the library. It must be very hard for the sudden loss of a husband. I have you in my prayers and pray for God's blessing during this period of grief for you and Meagan.

Heartfelt sorrow to hear of Frank's passing. I've known Frank since we were six years old in Miss Harvey's class at Line Ave. Elem. We somehow ended up in the same classes all the way to Byrd High. He was a truly likeable kid growing up with an infectious laugh that everyone loved. It sounds like he grew into quite a man with a wonderful family. May God bless you all at this time with the strength to endure. Rest In Peace, Frankie.

Margaret Claire and Megan, I am both shocked and saddened by the news of Frank's death. Frank was so much like my dad, John Parks, who loved to tinker and fix everything. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. I hope to be in touch with you soon. Love, Ellen and Kenny
