Gregory Shackelford Obituary

Gregory Vincent

Shackelford

SHREVEPORT, LA - Gregory Vincent Shackelford, 24, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014. He was on his way home from work that morning. Now he is home with his Heavenly Father.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 13, 6pm-8pm at Aulds Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, March 14, at 10am, in the Aulds Chapel. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery on Stoner Ave. Officiating the services will be Rev. Joey Ketchum, Pastor at Western

Hills Baptist Church.

Vincent was a graduate of Parkway High School. He was honored and proud to be part of The Pride of Pantherland Band on the drum line. Next to his love of music was his love of art. He loved to draw and was extremely talented.

Vincent accepted everyone for who they were and was not one to exclude anyone for any reason. His big, beautiful heart had so much love to give. If it was in his power to help, you could count on him.

Vincent had recently decided to re-commit his life to God. He wanted to be free from the bondage of earthly things that were distracting him from the truly happy life he so longed for and deserved.

Vincent is survived by his proud family; parents, Daniel and Mary Jo Taylor; sisters, Tara Shackelford, Rachel Shackelford, and Lilia Taylor; step-brother, Ryan Taylor; second Moma, Grandma, Elizabeth Shackelford. He is also survived by countless family and friends who will sorely miss him.

Years ago I opened my home to you to help you get on your feet. It was a struggle at first however, you overcame some roadblocks. You were determined to do so. I read where you had recently decided to re-commit your life to God and was extremely pleased to read that. You are with Jesus and rejoicing with Him! You suffer no more and as the Bible says, to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord! I am happy you made the decision to give yourself to Jesus!! God Bless you and your family!
