It's been a long time, but I have always kept fond memories of the Hobbs family. I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your father, and I'm sending best wishes to all of you, David, Henry, William, and Emily. Every time I bake a cake I also think of your mother who patiently taught me how to bake a cake from scratch.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Henry Grady Hobbs our Brother in Arms, Fellow Legionnaire and Comrade Voyageur Militaire. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Henry. And to Henry it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during WW-II while serving in the U.S Army and for his many years of dedicated service to the American Legion and the 40&8 Society. Henry, you were a dedicated worker, a wonderful comrade and a strong supporter of the American Legion and Voiture 137 of the 40&8 Society. We bid you adieu and a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,261 Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 151 Voyageur Militaires of Voiture 137 of the 40&8 Society, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Henry's family and loved ones.
