James Heinrichs Obituary

James Heinrichs

Benton - James Dell Heinrichs, Sr.

James was born November 20, 1936 in Brownfield, Texas and went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 25, 2020 at the age of 84 after a courageous nine-year battle with Alzheimer's. A celebration of the life of James Heinrichs will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana with Brother John Fream officiating.

James was a 1960 graduate of the University of Texas in Austin: a true Longhorn fan. While in college, he met and married the absolute love of his life, Nancy, on May 16, 1959 just five months after their first blind date. Upon graduation, he started a 35 year career in the retail business at JC Penney Co. His career lead him and his family to ten cities in five states and many adventures, making many friends and wonderful memories along the way. His life was filled with travels although, his favorite place was always home with family. James and Nancy retired in Benton, Louisiana and loved playing golf at Palmetto Country Club. They moved into Pecan Plantation in Granbury, Texas before returning to Bossier City, Louisiana when James was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

James will always be remembered for the love he shared with Nancy; their love for each other was deep, true, and an example to many. He will also be remembered for the love he had for his family, infectious smile, contagious laugh, and his storytelling. Even as his disease took his memories, he continued to smile and spread joy. He loved his Lord and spent his life loving like Jesus.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chris and Jewell Quante; his parents, Helen Quante Beach and Roger Heinrichs; his uncle, O'Dell Quante and son in law, Kristopher Key.

James is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Nancy Heinrichs; sons, James Dell Heinrichs, Jr and Jeff Heinrichs; daughter, Tammy Sattler and husband, Roy; grandchildren, Zach Heinrichs, Ashley Crawford and husband, Weeks, Kasey Alford and husband, Jeremy, McKenzie Wilder and husband, Phillip, Laura Moore and husband, Reed and Tyler Key; He was blessed with nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law Harold and Susie Chesnut and JJ and Mitzi Johnson, and several nieces and nephews.

The family wants to thank Rene Matheny, and all the wonderful employees at The Blake Memory Care and wonderful staff at Regional Hospice.

To James Heinrichs Family.
I just found out that my dear friend and working partner with JCP has gone to be with our Lord.
Jim and I started working together in Wichita Falls, Texas, September, 1960. We kept in touch with each other through the many years, as we transferred to other job positions with JCP. Jim became my District Manager in 1987. He was the best "Boss" any store manage could have and I was elated. We stayed in touch with each other after we both retired, by phone and email. I am truly proud to have known and worked with Jim throughout the many years of friendship.
