Janet Posey Obituary
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Janet Lynn "Gran Jan" Posey, 61, of Rockwall, TX, peacefully went to be with our Lord on Wednesday. She was born Dec. 2, 1951 in Shreveport, LA, daughter of Margie Lisenby Ponder of Bossier City, and the late Charles Ponder.
Janet grew up in Bossier City where she graduated from Bossier High School. She attended college in Monroe, LA and graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and Master's Degree in Sociology. Jan worked as a vocational rehabilitation specialist for many years and owned her own business before taking on her dream job of being Gran Jan. She was a member of Lake Pointe Church in Rockwall and was part of the Peurifoy Life Group where she enjoyed fellowship with the ladies of her group.
Survivors include her mother, Margie Ponder; one brother, Mark Ponder; her son, Stephen Posey, his wife Tracey and their four children: Joshua, Isabelle, Gracelyn, and Gabriel who she lived with and cared for selflessly. Her father, Charles Ponder, and brother, Greg Ponder, preceded her in death.
Services will be held at Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 Hwy 80 East, Haughton, LA, 71037. Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, December 16, 2012, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, December 17, 2012.

I am so saddened hearing of Janets death. I know she is with our Heavenly Father and that He will provide comfort and peace to you through this difficult time. Although we had not been in touch in recent years, Jan held a very special place within my heart and was there for me through some very happy and some very difficult times. Janet was a wonderful, caring, loving person.We lived around the corner from each other growing up and had many wonderful times.Unfortunatley We loss touch after graduation.
