Jason Chandler Obituary
BOSSIER CITY, LA-Jason D. Chandler, 20, departed this earth suddenly on December 9, 2007 in Ruston, LA. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Asbury United Methodist Church.. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Batchelor pastor of Overcoming Faith Christian Church assisted by Dr. Rod Masteller, pastor of Summer Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery, Ringgold, LA. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.
Jason was born in Shreveport, LA and was a resident of Bossier City, LA. He was a student at LA Tech University in Ruston, LA and a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Preceding Jason in death is his paternal grandparents, John and Marilyn Chandler.
Jason is survived by his mother, Joni Rushing and husband Bob of Greenwood, LA; father, Dr. John Chandler and Mrs. Toni Chandler of Bossier City, LA; maternal grandparents, Jim and Merle Thompson of Mountain Home, AR; brothers, Cody Chandler and Clint Chandler of Bossier City, LA, Matthew Rushing of Greenwood, LA, Marshall Fulgium and Christian Fulgium, Patrick Larkin of Bossier City, LA; uncle, Greg Thompson; aunts, Debbie Baskin and Ginger Vines; cousins, Daniel, Laura and Melissa Baskin and numerous other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jason's brothers of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Memorials may be made in Jason's name at any Citizen's National Bank.
He was an avid hunter and a regional champion in high school wrestling. Jason's engaging blue eyes, quick smile and easygoing personality were his most beloved attributes and will be missed by those who loved him. Special thanks to Barbara and Doug Morris. Rose-Neath Funeral Home

I did not know this beautiful boy, Jason, but I do know some of you who loved him. I have just finished reading 10 pages of comments from people struggling for words to comfort in a time of unspeakable grief and attempting to lessen the pain in the face of seemingly unbearable loss.
May the love from these and faith (though it may be shaken)in God sustain you all. I pray that trusting in Him alone will provide what you need to endure and eventually find peace. I believe that can happen and those who love you feel your pain and share your burden as much as is possible.

Jim and Merle, Thank you for your contributions to the upbringing of Jason. As a single parent, beginning when Jason was three and half weeks old, you kept him so I could go to night school after I got off work. This enabled me to finanacially support Jason during those years he wrestled , which was his favorite sport. My highest honor is that of working mother for over twenty years. Although, I never met you, Jason played a very large part in my life. I more or less adopted him here in Ruston. I miss him terribly and can't fathom the loss you are feeling. I just wanted you to know that you did an awesome job rearing Jason. He was a truly beautiful person inside and out, and we have to only gather he got his manners and personality from a strong upbringing. His Brothers here and his Aunt Janna will mourn your loss for years to come. We love you J-Chan!

I am so very sorry for your loss. The main thing I miss working at Chevron is seeing your family come into the store and enjoyed hearing Jasons excitement about his wrestling. The lord blesses us by giving us his children to raise and now Jason has fullfilled his work for the lord and he has now called him home. Just think of all the lives he has touched and even help change some people to be a better person by his example. He was a wonderfull and fine young man. Today was difficult. I would like to share with you, though, my very special memory of Jason. We heard a lot about Jason's comedian side today and the stories are endless. I saw a different side to Jason when he held Elizabeth; only a few weeks old. I will never forget his strong arms cradling her while his gentle spirit calmed her. I am so saddened by Jason's death. He was loved so much by our family and was always treated as one of us. Jason always brought such joy and enthusiasm to those around him. He never hesitated to offer assistance, and even helped my son play Santa Claus last Christmas Eve, putting toys together til two in the morning. I am glad that i had the opportunity to meet John last week and thank him for sharing Jason with us on holidays.I only wish we had more to share. Many lives will never be the same without Jason, but they surely will be better for having known and loved him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
