Tammy & George, I was very sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He and I are the same age and though we weren't able to grow up as closely together as with some of our other cousins, I remember the holiday visits, times in Rambin and at Aunt Lily's, with Steve very fondly. He was a special person. I'm so sorry I'm not able to attend his services and hope that y'all know that my thoughts have been with you this week. Please accept my warmest sympathies.

I remember Steve by the nickname we gave him in KA at LSUS. We called him "32" because of his perfect score on the A.C.T. He was obviously extremely bright, but also extremely nice and unassuming.

I knew Steve when he was a student at LSUHSC. I found him to be very kind and good-natured. I remember him showing me his hemoglobin number one day in the hospital elevator. He was severely anemic from blood loss and yet was going about his work with remarkable grace. He is gone too soon.

Please accept my condolences. I knew Steve back in the biology years at LSU-S and got to know him better on a wacky ecology field trip to Arkansas. He was quite a man, a good man, and our world is richer for having had him in it.

Godspeed, Steve.
