Lois Cooley Stringer

SHREVEPORT, LA- Mrs. Lois Cooley Stringer, 81 of Shreveport, LA passed away on February 6, 2008 in Shreveport. She was born on September 18, 1926 in Alexandria, LA. Mrs. Stringer was a longtime resident of the Shreveport area. She was a member of Riverpark Church. Mrs. Stringer was a RN and spent most of her working career at Willis-Knighton Medical Center and also worked in Many, LA at Sabine Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents Massie and Luther Cooley and sister Laverne Grant.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 1/2 years, Quinton Stringer; three daughters, Pat Parker and husband Lonnie, Judy Mohawk and husband Ike and Linda Langford; son, Ken Stringer and wife Vicky; brother, Elmer Cooley; one half brother, Gene Cooley; one half sister, Mary DeLoach; one step-brother, James Cooley; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2008 in Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Mark Briggs of Riverpark Church and her grandson Rev. Jesse Langford. Burial will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Centuries.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Timothy Nicholls, Dr. Pete Blanchard and the nursing staff at Willis-Knighton ICU for the loving care they provided for their mother. Centuries Memorial Funeral
