My husband and I planted a tree in our backyard when my daddy passed in 2020. It is growing so beautifully. It is a sweet daily reminder of his full life.
My daddy was spunky, loud, bossy, honest, a great leader, fisherman, duck hunter, carver and painter of ducks he gave to Ducks Unlimited for them to auction off, Elder in his church, friend and penpal to many prisoners who had no one else that cared, supervisor of several hospital's OR's. He could be silly, clown around, joke, talk for hours, opinionated, God-fearing, always present-always there for my mama and my brother and me. He was tough on the outside, but so, so soft-hearted inside. He lost his mama at 15 and never got over it. He still cried about it in his 80's. My daddy was the most giving, tough, gentle, precious man I've ever known. He struggled with his failing health from kidney failure caused by diabetes for the last 3-4 years of his life. He continued dialysis, even though he hated going, because he did not want my mama to be without him. He was tough as nails and did what he had to do to survive as long as he could until he fell and broke his leg and decided he did not want surgery. He fought to the very end. I love you and thank you for the perfect daddy for me that you could ever be! I was always so proud to be born on your birthday. I'm proud to say you were MY daddy! I love and miss you so much, forever! Can't wait to see you again at those pearly gates!

I am very late in discovering Lowell's passing. I have fond memories partnering with him to publish an article in the AORN Journal and enjoying his company at our nursing association's annual conference. I am richer for having known him.

May God bless you and your family during this time of loss. I have very fond memories of working with Lowell in Shreveport at P & S hospital years ago when I was a young nurse in Surgery. He was such a positive and fun co worker! I was happy to have known him during those years and have often thought of him as time has passed. I am sure he has been a blessing to many!

He was always my favorite uncle....He is part of all my best childhood memories from camping in Arkansas, fish camps we had at Toledo Bend, duck hunting, and his happy personality at our family holidays. He was a wonderful christian example to everyone and although I haven't got see him much over the last few years my heart hurts that he has left this world. I know he is in paradise and happy today. We are keeping my sweet Aunt Gwen, Ted and Linda on our prayers!

I want to give a shout out to my daddys hospice nurse, Sharon, with ARKANSAS HOSPICE, the awesome company I also work for. You were an angel on this earth, Sharon, when we needed one to show up quickly. Thank you for your precious spirit and compassion for my daddy and our whole family. We will forever be grateful and never forget you. Love you!

The Final Salute
Brothers and Sisters-in-Arms, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged Hand Salutes as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This Hand Salute is the last that we shall render to Lowell Leonard Price our Brother-in-Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Lowell. To Lowell it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S. Military. Lowell, we commend you for your honorable military service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 881 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport and the 227 veterans of VFW Post 4588 in Bossier City, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Lowell's family and loved ones.
