Maxine "Nan" Elsie Weese Breitschopf

Bossier City, LA - Mrs. Maxine ("Nan") Elsie Weese Breitschopf, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12th, at 11:49 p.m. after a lengthy illness. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17th, at Osborn Funeral Home followed by a service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Kendall Docter. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Haughton.

Mrs. Breitschopf was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Myrtle Weese; sisters, Virginia Yvonne Schoonover and Marguerite Ellen Weese; brothers, Alvin Nealey Weese, Kent Allen ("Buck") Weese, Harold ("Tiny") Weese, Jennings Bryan ("Jink") Weese, Franklin Delano ("Frank") Weese, Otis Wilson ("Bud") Weese, and Thomas Pershing ("Tommy") Weese.

Maxine is survived by her loving husband of more than 65 years, John Breitschopf; daughter, Lynda Kaye Breitschopf Jones and husband, O. Wayne; son, David Michael Breitschopf and wife, Phyllis; five grandchildren, Monica D'Ann Breitschopf Lauterbach and husband, Matthew, Jennifer Ashley Jones Graham and husband, Paul, Justin Bryan Breitschopf, Johnathan Olen Jones and Jared Wayne Jones and wife, Haley; and five great-grandchildren, Abigail Seline Lauterbach, Katherine-Ann Merritt Lauterbach, Kenner Aaron Lauterbach, Carolyne Isabella Graham, and Bryce Thomas Graham. She is also survived by one sister, Annalee Weese Louke, as well as one brother, Raymond Dewayne Weese.

A native of Beverly, West Virginia on File Creek and a resident of Bossier City, LA for more than 60 years, Maxine was a devout member of Barksdale United Methodist Church, where she had an active role for over 55 years. She had a heart for her church and took pleasure in all of the activities there since she began attending. Maxine loved her church, her family, and also had a passion for gardening, bird watching, and being outdoors; her favorite pastime was sitting on the porch of her mountainous home place in beautiful West Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Barksdale United Methodist Church, 1465 Patricia Drive, Bossier City, LA 71112.

Pallbearers will be Justin Breitschopf, Johnathan Jones, Jared Jones, Paul Graham, Matthew Lauterbach, and Aaron Lauterbach. Honorary pallbearers will be O. Wayne Jones, John M. LeGrand, Jr., Dwight Bowlin, and Kenneth Franks.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Richard Haynie, Dr. Jeffrey Overdyke, Thompson Home Health, and Eileen Hamm (Southern Care). Special appreciation goes out to Mrs. Shelia English and especially Ms. Barbara Washington.
