Myron Bounds Obituary
Joaquin, TX - Funeral services honoring the life of SGM (Ret) Myron Bounds, 79, will be at 10:30 AM Friday, April 7, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Logansport, LA with Reverend Timothy Roberson officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at NWLA Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church in Logansport, LA on April 6, 2017 from 6PM to 8PM for visitation.
Myron was born on November 24, 1937 to Caufman and Geraldine (Davis) Bounds and entered into rest on April 1, 2017. He served 27 years in the United States Army and retired as Sergeant Major.
Preceding Myron in death is his parents, Caufman and Geraldine Davis Bounds; son, Christopher Mark Bounds; brothers, Dean Bounds, Myron Douglas Bounds and stepdad, Pershing M. Bounds.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Mark Bounds, Patrick Bounds and wife Mary Lynn, John Myron Bounds and wife Sara, Steven Bounds; daughter, Melanie McBride; sisters, LaFern Terrell and husband Paul, Joyce Bounds Young and husband Ronald; brothers, Danny Ray Bounds, Wayne Bounds, and Don W. Bounds; eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The Final Salute
Brothers in Arms, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged Hand Salutes as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This Hand Salute is the last that we shall render to Myron Bounds our Brother-in-Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Myron. To Myron it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Myron, we commend you for your honorable service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
