Patrick Kelleher Obituary

Patrick Curry Kelleher

BOSSIER CITY, LA-Patrick Curry Kelleher, 80, passed away August 29, 2011 after a brief illness. He was a grandson of the Bossier Parish pioneer Crouch family, and grew up on Crouch Road named for his grandfather. After graduation from Benton High School in 1950, he attended Northwestern State College in Natchitoches, LA seeking an engineering degree. He left this area and worked for Boeing Aircraft in quality control for 18 years in Seattle, WA where he met his first wife, Mable Fitting. They had three sons. He later worked for Stone-Webster Engineering in the New York/New Jersey area in the nuclear field for 16 years. He married a second time to Dorothy White in Arlington, TX and they had one daughter. He retired in Granbury, TX.

Pat was predeceased by both wives, his parents, Leila Crouch Kelleher and James Emmett Kelleher, Sr., his sister, Leska Kelleher Hammett and brother-in-law, Tommy Hammett, a brother, James Emmett Kelleher, Jr. (killed in Korea) and a daughter-in-law, Greta Potter Kelleher.

He is survived by his sons, Michael James Kelleher, wife Diane, Dennis Wayne Kelleher and Steven Patrick Kelleher, all of Seattle, WA area, daughter, Joli L. Grisham, husband Jason of Monroe, LA, sister, Helen Kelleher and nephew, Don Hammett, both of Shreveport, LA, two special cousins, Jewel Hollier and Audrey Creamer of Benton and companion, Jackie Johnston.

He is also survived by his extended family, step-daughters, Vicki Krystal and Sherry Ferrell, husband, Joseph, of Granbury, TX, step-son, Richard Dean White, wife Missy, of Mansfield, TX, step-son-in-law, Ron Krystal, of Joshue, TX, 6 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren.

Sometimes we are fortunate to witness angels on earth. Pat's earth angels are Hospice Nurse, Robyn Watkins, and Hospice CNA, Debbie Purvis. They lovingly cared for their "Mr. Pat". He also had the special and thoughtful care of Dr. Ted Warren for which just a thank you seems so inadequate.

Pat touched the lives of many people in his work and travels, but none were more special to him than his 17 classmates of Benton High School, especially his queen when he was king of the senior class.

No visitation is planned for the Bossier City area. Burial will be in Holly Hills Memorial Park, Granbury, TX under the direction of Martins Funeral Home.
