I met Paul less than a year ago and our paths crossed in the business world. When I traveled this past July, Paul showed a level of hospitality that I could never imagine. A true loss to his family and community. His personality was inspirational.

Penny, Just heard of your loss today. Janice gave me a call. God be with you in these trying times ahead. Paul will be sorely missed. I always hated to see him come in the shop (no not really, he was a joy to be around), he was always so picky about those shirts of his. The colors had to be just right..... May God Bless you and your family......Ms. Eddie (from the embroidery shop -- Studio Graphics, Bossier City, LA

On Saturday I lost not only a boss and a cousin, but a TRUE FRIEND. For a moment on Saturday the day was dark. But then as the events of the day kept un-folding, I realized that by the end of the day it started getting brighter! Only to realize that I was lucky to have not one GUARDIAN ANGEL, but I NOW HAVE TWO, ONE ON EACH SIDE OF ME!! The world is a better place with Paul spreading his laughter and cheer and not to mention his George Jefferson strut, to RESEPCT above us. Now when it is raining I have to look twice to make sure it is really raining and not Paul playing! If any one could do it he could.

GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN

When Paul called me for an enterview 5 1/2 years ago he asked me "do you have experience?" I asked him "No, how do you get experience if no one will hire you so you can get experience?" Well he gave me that chance. I loved Paul as a boss, friend and family. He was the best boss ever!! To Mary Jane, your son was a great man. To Penney your husband was awsome! To Mary-Paige and Peyton your father was the best! Please just keep in mind though he isn' with us now he will always be in our heart. Please don't ever forget that. We all have to be strong and all of us at LGA will be here if you ever need anything.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this time of sorrow. I have had the pleasure of knowing Paul for over 20 years. He was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. My fondest memory of Paul was when the Commercial Department of Patterson Insurance was at Adam Square, me being a Bossier "Bearkat" and Paul being a Airline "Viking". It was Bossier's Homecoming and we were playing Airline. Paul always gave me a hard time over who was the better football team. Well, Paul bet me that Airline was going to walk all over Bossier. The bet was I think $10.00 plus $1.00 for every point difference. Well we went back and forth all week about who was the better team. Come Friday night, well I will just say Paul owed me a little bit of money. Bossier shut out Airline. I did not see or hear from Paul for weeks after that! He went as far as to photo copy the money he owed me and faxed it to me.

Paul was a wonderful man who will be missed dearly. He was a one of a kind. God Bless you all.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Penney, Mary-Paige, and Peyton...My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. I will always remember Paul as not only my boss for many years, but a friend. He always knew how to take a bad situation and turn it around. The 'girls' at LGA, including myself will always remember him making us laugh! (and the famous 'George Jefferson' dance) He will truly be missed and you are all in my prayers.

IF YOU COULD SEE WHERE I HAVE GONE

If you could see where I have gone, the beauty of this place, and how it feels to know you're home. To see the Savior's face. To wake in peace and know no fear, just joy beyond compare, while still on earth you miss me. yet you wouldn't want me there, If you could see where I have gone.

If you could see where I have gone, had made the trip with me, you'd know I didn't go alone, the Savior came with me; When I awoke he was by my side, and reached out his hand, and said, "Hurry child you're going home to a grand and glorious land. Don't worry over those you love, for I'm not just with you, and don't you know, with you at home they'll long to be here too."

If you could see where I have gone, and see what I've been shown; you'd never know another tear, or ever feel alone. You'd marvel at the care of God, His hand on every life, and realize He really cares, and bear with us each strife, and He weeps when one is lost, His heart is filled with pain, But oh! the joy when one comes home. A child at home again.

If you could see whaere I have gone, Could stay awhile with me, Could share the things that God has made, To grace eternity, but no, you could never leave.
Once Heaven's joy you'd known. You couldn't bear to walk earth's path. Once heaven was you home.

I you could see where I have gone. You'd know we'll met someday, And though I'm parted from you now, That I'm just away, So thank you,
Family, Thank you friends for living for the Lord, for teaching me to Love Him, To trust Him and His words, and now that I'm home with Him, Secure in every way, I'm waiting here at heavens door, To greet you some sweet day.

Paul Johnson - such a good and caring neighbor - I remember the two of us rescuing a choking puppy from a nearby wood pile - barely daylight and in a storm! He came running from his back porch with a kitchen knife and met me running from mine with an umbrella, and both of us in our jammies! A great guy and a great daddy! I know his girls will miss him so much.
