Rose Bodino Obituary

Rose P.(Licata)Bodino

Shreveport,LA-Rose Bodino passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on November 6, 2014 in Shreveport,Louisiana where she has been a resident for the past 41 years. Born at Windham Community Memorial Hospital, in Willimantic, Connecticut, she was the seventh of nine children born to the late Joseph P. Licata, Sr. and Lillian(Salveggio) Licata. She spent her life as a dedicated mother and a homemaker and will be deeply missed by her family. She was able to live life her way and has always said that it's been great. Although she was a graduate from Windham High School, she always wished that she educated herself further. Accordingly, she remained a voracious reader throughout her life. She made sure her children were well educated and found their way in life. She understood the essence of making life successful and felt it important to always strive for excellence.

After graduation, she worked for the Electro Motive Manufacturing Company in Willimantic, Connecticut until she started her own family. In her early years, she was an avid bowler and had the trophies to prove it. In her latter years, she enjoyed spending time at the casinos where her donations will certainly be missed. More importantly, her voluntary donations went to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 48 years John Bodino, and two sons: John L. Bodino and his wife Debby of Shreveport,Louisiana and Michael Bodino and his wife Ginger of Fort Worth,Texas along with his children Lauren Chase Bodino and Jacob Ryan Bodino and stepchildren Bailey Bowman and Blaine Bowman. Rose was particularly close to her in-laws, Shirley and Ray Plante and did not miss a weekly phone call in over 30 years. See you in our Heavenly slots(thanks).

She was predeceased by her sisters Mary and Josephine, and brothers Paul, Joseph,Jr., and Norman,Sr. She is survived by her sister Lillian Cohen of Coventry, Connecticut and brothers Samuel Licata of Willimantic, Connecticut and Angelo Licata of East Hartford, Connecticut, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Windham, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, Rose and family ask that you consider a donation to the American Cancer Society. We would like to thank the staff at Willis Knighton Cancer Center and especially thank Dr. Robert Nickelson, Dr. Michael Durci, and Andrea Moore for giving us four and a half additional years with her. Thanks to all the nursing staff at Willis Knighton North 4 East.
