Wesley Hampton Obituary
LONGVIEW, TX - Wesley Clarence Hampton 71, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, June 14, 2007 in Longview.
He is survived by his four sons whom he loved dearly: Wesley A. of Sulphur Springs, TX, Roger V. & Ryan W. of Baton Rouge, Larry J. of Elk City, OK.
He is survived by a brother, Rogers E. Hampton of Stonewall. He was preceded in death by siblings Perry W. & Sarah Hampton, and his parents, Perry Wade and Ruby Dale Hampton.
He was "Papaw" to 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for Oct. 15, 2007 in Shreveport.

Wesley and I lived in the best of times in a wonderful neighborhood. So many fond memories of our early years. Whether it was pitching washers in a can or throwing hoops into a homemade basketball bucket (actual bucket) in his back yard or the countless days spent at the Park. Everyone loved Wesley. Rest in peace my little buddy.

Blessings to the family and especially to Rogers and Wesley's children and grandchildren. I knew Wesley from elementary school on, played 85 lb and 105 lb football with him, and he was a great friend who will be missed. May God comfort all of you in this time of sorrow. Wesley's Fair Park picture has been added to the Memorials on the FPHS Class of '53 Website.

Wes and I played a lot of softball together and againest each other and I always admired his smiling and laid back attiude. He was a gifted athlete. My heartfelt condolences to you Roger, my good friend, and I shall be at the memorial service.
