RINGGOLD, LA - Graveside services for William Matthew Henry "Matt" Honley, 32, of Ringgold, LA will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Springhill Cemetery in Ringgold, LA. Visitation will be Friday, October 24, 2014 from 11:00 until service time at Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold, LA. Officiating will be Bro. Stephen Murphy.
Matt was born January 20, 1982 in Shreveport, LA and passed away at his home October 19, 2014. He was a wonderful, loving and caring son to his mom, whom he had such a special relationship with. He was her "beloved baby" and will be missed very much. He was also a great brother and uncle. He never met a stranger and was always helpful to others.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his dad, William Honley. Left to cherish his memories include his mother, Betty Honley of Ringgold, LA; sisters and brothers-in-law, April and Jeremy Nash of Lewiston, Maine and Sarah and Joseph Garza of Ringgold, LA; eight nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

Still after five years you are missed, Matthew. My fondest memories are the way you would greet family, friends and even stanger's; BBQing at our 2nd annual family reunion and catching meat on fire; as a little boy you always had a make believe horse that you tie up to the fence. You were definitely a gift and you will never be forgotten. Love you always my dear cousin.

I remember Uncle Matt from when I was little. I didn't get to talk to him much after I've moved out, but I remember all the fun we had when I visited. Grandma definitely got it right when she made him :) <3

My dearest Mrs Betty, i am still speechless at the loss of Matt. I hope and pray that you find strength and peace in knowing what a wonderful human you created and shared with the world. I know your in pain, but know he is with you still and forever will watch over you and your family. I will miss him so much and cannot believe i will never cook for him again. He made us laugh so many many times, and usually just when we needed it most. Please know i am always here if you need me, and know i love you dearly!!

I will miss Matt dearly. I will think of him often and recall fond memories. Matt was a gentle giant of a man...good-natured and kind with manners uncommon in this day and time. The world is diminished with him no longer in it.

We will miss Matt. I had the best times riding the four wheeler and shooting his guns. Holidays will not be the same without my favorite cousin! But now he is having a great time with Grandma & Grandpa Honley!

When God calls us home we have no choice but to go. I have no doubt Matthew was accepted with open arms and we should not worry because grandma and grandpa Honley, uncle Henry and aunt Janie are the angels that guided Matthew home to heaven. There are no words to express our sorrow but please know Matt will always be in our hearts and we will always remember that little boy that had the biggest imagination and a heart full of gold. Matt will be sorely missed! My heart truly aches for you and your family in your time of sorrow!
