Barbara Stanley

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother Barbara Stanley passed away peacefully on September 25, 2022. She was two days shy of her 82nd birthday. She was born in Brooklyn, and after marrying Richard Stanley in 1967, they moved to Staten Island, eventually settling in Richmondtown. Barbara was a high school Social Studies teacher beginning her career in 1966 in Brooklyn. After her move she began teaching at New Dorp High School and eventually settled at Tottenville High School in the early 1980s. After a career that spanned 30 years, she retired in 1996. She spent her retirement years travelling including multiple trips to Italy and Ireland. She also spent time crocheting and knitting blankets, hats and sweaters for her multiple grandchildren. Barbara is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard Stanely as well as her four children, Christine, Suzanne, Barbara and Richard, their spouses and ten grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family, especially her husband. Wake is from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, September 28th, at Hanley Funeral Home, 60 New Dorp Lane. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday, September 29th, St Patricks Church, 53 St Patricks Place.
