Carolyn Eileen Gibson

Beloved mother, grandmother, lifelong Islander, 83 Former Westerleigh resident, Carolyn Eileen Gibson, age 83, passed away on January 2. She was the devoted daughter of the late John and Edna Jones; the loving wife of the late Francis Gibson; beloved mother of Bruce (Marie), Eric (Karline), and the late Richard (Rose) Gibson; cherished grandmother of Jett Schilling, Dale (Rachel), Taylor, Emily, Kelly, and Jamie Gibson. Carolyn was an avid reader and had worked for many years at the NY Public Library on Staten Island. She enjoyed travel, floral arranging, baking, and sharing time - and a pot of tea - with family and friends. She doted on her beloved dog, Tootsie, and before her, Molly. Her faithful companions gave her great comfort and joy. She had many wonderful lifelong friends, whom she loved like family. Carolyn had a beautiful, kind heart, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and friends are invited to a Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 981 Castleton Ave., Staten Island on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m.
