Daniel Bonanno, 38, of Staten Island, New York passed away on March 28th, 2026

Born on June 4, 1987, in Staten Island, N.Y. Daniel was one of a kind. Growing up in Staten Island around endless family and friends, he later studied and lived in Boca Raton, Florida, before returning to New York.

He was a mechanical engineer for Merck Pharmaceuticals and he was also known as "Dr. Dan" by many. Danny traveled the world far and near teaching others about the medical devices he made and designed.

He was quieter than most because he was too busy taking in the joy of life. His greatest accomplishment was his son, Vince, whom he was so proud of and was his clone.

He was happily married to his wife, Andrea, with whom he shared 14 beautiful years. His favorite place to go was Boca, where he spent a lot of his time with his family and created core memories.

His happiest days were simple, playing video games, watching TV and laughing in his home. Daniel grew up going to Disney World, which was his favorite place in the world to be. He managed to take his son three times in the three short years he knew him. He created those memories for his son just like his late mother Nellie and father Michael did for him. An avid Lego builder, he passed that love and tradition on to his son.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea, son Vince, father, Michael, brothers Adam, Michael and Nicholas, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Daniel's life was cut short, but his unique ability to make a difference in this world will continue forever.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Bedell Pizzo Funeral Home, 7447 Amboy Road in Tottenville. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 1, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea R.C. Church, 5371 Amboy Rd. in Huguenot. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery at 361 Sharott Ave. in Pleasant Plains.
