George Eugene Giovinazzo

George Eugene Giovinazzo Beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, 88 George is a lifelong Staten Islander and a graduate of Port Richmond High School. Prior to working as a Lieutenant in the FDNY, George also served in the United States Army and for a brief time in the NYPD. He was born to Joseph and Maria Giovinazzo and was predeceased by his eight siblings Rose, Vee, Millie, Josephine, Irene, Jerry, Tony, and Frank. George is survived by his sister-in-law, Isabelle, cherished former wife and friend, Arlene, loving daughter Christine and son-in-law Tom as well as his four beloved grandsons, TJ, Mikey, Danny and Ryan. In his earlier years, George enjoyed playing tennis, skiing and was a member of the Staten Island Ski Club. He also played golf and led the 'All Hands' Golf Club for many years. Family meant everything to George. He loved spending time with his siblings and their families. George's life was most fulfilled when he became a grandfather 19 years ago. It was obvious from the smile on his face and sparkle in his eye that he was his happiest when he proudly watched each grandson excel in their sporting and academic endeavors. Pop could always be found sitting behind the backstop at a baseball game or on the front bleacher at the high school basketball game.
