Helen Margaret Hannan

1929 - 2023

Dedicated volunteer and patron of the arts Helen Margaret Hannan (nee Hamilton) died March 9th after a brief illness. Helen was born in the Bronx on November 7th, 1929. She moved with her family to Staten Island when she was a young girl. Helen attended St. Peter's Girls High School. She married Robert J. Hannan in 1952 and her three children soon followed. Helen worked for many years at Chemical Bank. After retiring, she was a dedicated volunteer at Pax Christi Hospice. She also traveled extensively in those years. She was a ferocious reader and patron of the arts – enjoying many Broadway productions, as well as concerts, art exhibits and any event that struck her fancy. Helen is pre-deceased by her parents, James and Elizabeth Hamilton, her brothers, John and James, as well as sisters-in- law Constance Hamilton and Evelyn Hannan, and brother- in-law Steve Hannan. She is survived by her children, Robert, Irene and Mary Susan, cousin, Rita Page Reuss, sister-in-law Brenda Hamilton and her nieces and nephews and their families.
