October 1, 1956 – September 7, 2022 Maryalice was born in Manhattan and grew up in Rockaway. She graduated Cum Laude (BFA) from Lehman College, received an MBA from Wagner and a Masters of Library and Information Science from Pratt. She worked at the Bronx Zoo, Columbia University, Wagner College and after twenty-one years recently retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of NY. Maryalice enjoyed knitting, competitive archery and sharp shooting, kayaking, camping and traveling. An avid outdoors woman and conservationist, she also volunteered at The Downtown Boathouse. She is reunited with her late husband, Ian B. Livingston and is survived by her brother, John J. Cassidy II; sister, Eileen Cassidy; nephews: John J. Cassidy III, Joseph, Brian, and Denis DeBlois, and her loving O'Shaughnessy and Rayder cousins of Rockaway. A memorial gathering will be held at the Staten Island Zoo at 11am, December 10, 2022.

I was a wide-eyed college pre-medical student a biology major, and I worked my entire four years of college under Mary Alice at the Columbia University biology department. I loved her very much and she was so amazingly supportive. She called me her "poika".... Which I think was a Polish version of a mensch. I was thinking of her family and how proud she would be that I became a doctor and that I take care of second premature babies. I am so so sad to learn of her passing. If any of her family can reach out to me and let me know what happened it would be greatly appreciated. All of my love and her memory will definitely be for a blessing.

I had the honor and privilege of working with Maryalice at Wagner College in the late `90´s. I was the new Provost and she was the admin asst. We accomplished a remarkable number of academic and curricular reforms at the College. Without Maryalice I am not sure if we would have been so successful. Her intelligence, resiliency and wicked humor all made the difference in bringing so much good change to Wagner. I loved working with her. She leaves an indelible mark on my heart. Rest easy, Maryalice.
