Clara Wingfield Obituary

Clara Irene (Wolfe) Arnold Wingfield, 83, of Sidney, died at 5 a.m. Dec. 22, 2012 at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney.
She was born in Akron, Feb. 16, 1927, a daughter of the late Irene (Litton) and Paul "Pete" Wolfe. On May 7, 1946, she married Robert "Bob" Arnold, and he preceded her in death Aug. 10, 1985. She then married Joseph Wingfield, who died in 2012.
Clara is survived by her children and their spouses, Shelia and William Nuss, of Sidney, Sherry and Mike Scully, of Sidney, and Steve and Joyce Arnold, of Sidney; a daughter-in-law, Chris Arnold, of Sidney; grandchildren, Mike Nuss, of Sidney, Kris Nuss, of Cincinnati, Sean Scully, of Miamisburg, Shannon (Peter Wojtkowiak) Scully, of Sylvania, Chad (Tracy) Scully, McCartyville, Brian (Robyn) Arnold, of Fort Loramie, Tony (Jill) Arnold, of Sidney, Stacy (Matt) Dietz, of Sidney, Jason (Sherry) Arnold, of Sidney, Andy (Julie) Arnold, of Indianapolis, Ind., Joseph (Julie) Arnold of Sidney, and Emily (Dominic) Burnside of Piqua.
She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Katie Nuss, Carrie Nuss, Abby Nuss, Nick Nuss, Colin Scully, Logan Scully, Claire Scully, Anya Wojtkowiak, Evan Wojtkowiak, Mackenzie Scully, Andrew Scully, Brittany Arnold, Carson Arnold, Nick Dietz, Hailey Dietz, Lucas Arnold, Addison Arnold, Hollie Arnold, Tyler Arnold, Logan Dietz, Austin Arnold, Dylan Arnold, Cameron Arnold, Peyton Arnold, Breenan Arnold, Ian Arnold, Landyn Arnold, Hailey Arnold, Evan Arnold, Hannah Burnside, Hudson Burnside and Lucy Arnold; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Louise Wolfe, of Sidney, and Paul and Jackie Wolfe, of Russell Point.
She was preceded in death by one son, Scott Arnold, in November, 2012.
Clara was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary, where she was past president, Wilson Auxiliary, where she served as president, Wilson Memorial Foundation Board, Shelby County Moose, Sidney Veterans of Foreign Wars, Shelby County Democrats, Shelby County Democrat Women, and Holy Angel's Sodality, and was named Sidney-Shelby County Senior Citizen of the Year.

Clara was owner-operator of RoClare Beauty Salon for 20 years. She retired from Copeland Corp. in Sidney. Clara was a friend to all. She never met a stranger she didn't make her friend. Clara was loved by everyone she ever came in contact with. She and Bob were the grandparents of "The Dirty Dozen," who were the source of their pride. Clara made over 50 family quilts.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Sidney, by the Rev.Dan Hess. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wilson Hospital Auxiliary, 915 Michigan St., Sidney, OH 45365.

I worked with Clara years ago at Copeland, but what a delightful woman I remember her as. She was such a pleasure to know, work with, and have as a friend. My prayers are with you at this time.
