BOTKINS -- Jerold R. "Jerry" Vaughan, 77, of Botkins, OH, died 10:26 p.m., Sat. April 2, 2022, at the Mercy Health- St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, OH. He was born April 22, 1944, in Fairbury, IL, the son of Jerold Henry & Vivian Jean (Moore) Vaughan. His parents and step-mother, Rita Thornton Vaughan preceded him in death. On March 2, 1968, he married Carol A. Weaver, who survives.
Survivors include,3 children, Eric R. (Carol) Vaughan, Fairbury, IL, Brandon K. (Stacey) Vaughan, Spencerville, OH, Trevor M. (Abby) Vaughan, Morton, IL, 8 grandchildren, Morgan, Macy, Kyley, McKenna, Kinsley, Kamden, Kendall, & Khloe Vaughan, 4 siblings, Peggy Olson, Fairbury, IL, Danny (Peggy) Vaughan, Bloomington, IL, Jill (Roger) Braun, Fairbury, IL, David (Alice) Vaughan, Champaign, IL, a brother-in-law, Richard "Mick" Zollers, a sister-in-law, Diane Vaughan.
He was preceded in death by 2 siblings, Jack Vaughan, & Kathy Zollers.
Jerry and his family moved to the Botkins, OH, area in 1989 with Honeggers Feed Mill, and later retired from Hubbard Feeds Inc. He was a proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in Okinawa. He was a member of the Botkins United Methodist Church, and the American Legion Heiland Post #446, Anna, OH. In his younger years, Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and camping. He also enjoyed watching his sons, compete in dirt track racing, and attending his grandchildren's activities.
Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m., Wed. April 6, 2022, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Randy Locker officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Wed. at the funeral home in Wapakoneta. Funeral services with be 10:30 a.m., Sat. April 9, at the First United Methodist Church, Fairbury, IL. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. The family will receive friends 4-7 p.m., Fri. April 8, at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, IL.
