SIDNEY — Joan L. Fogt, 84, of Sidney, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 10:15 a.m. while at Brookdale of Piqua.
She was born on Aug. 9, 1931, in Bowling Green, Indiana, the daughter of the late John L.and Olive (Milligan) Clarke. On June 4, 1949, she married Willis B. Fogt, their union lasted for 53 years until his death on Jan. 17, 2003.
She is survived by four children, Jerry (Arlys) Fogt, of Piqua, Mrs.Connie (Larry) Clark , Steven Fogt and Bruce (Linda) Fogt, all of Sidney. They share the wonderful memories of her life with eight grandchildren, Jerry Leon (Sharon) Fogt, Holly (Jason) Jensvold, Joni (Scott) Stanford, Julie (Dustin) Fast, Matthew Fogt, Jennifer Fogt, Corrie Fogt and Haley Fogt and six great-grandchildren, Maddison, Natalie, Carissa, Jacob, Luke and Gabriel.
Joan was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
One sister, Rosalie Brown of Brazil, Indiana, survives.
Joan moved from Indiana to Ohio when she married Willis shortly after graduating from high school and lived her entire married life on their farm on Kirkwood Road as a farmer's wife and homemaker. She enjoyed farming and taking care of animals, more than housework. She taught children's Sunday school many years at Springcreek UCC/Christian Church where she was a member. For the last few years she attended the First Baptist Church in Sidney. For many years Joan was an adviser for the Orange Township Livestock 4-H Club.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 13, 2016, at noon at First Baptist Church, 309 E. North St., Sidney with the Rev. George Gnade officiating. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery in Swanders. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
Funeral arrangements are in care of Cromes Funeral Home Inc. 302 S. Main Ave.
The family wishes to thank Brookdale of Piqua and Brookdale Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to our mother. Memorial contributions may be given to Brookdale of Piqua or Brookdale Hospice in memory of Joan Fogt. Envelopes will be available at the church.

Jerry, Connie, Steve, and Bruce, I was so sorry to hear of your mom passing. I'll always remember the good things she did for the church and the youth group get-togethers we had . You are in my thoughts and my prayers .
