SIDNEY - Linda Jean Baker, 71, of Sidney, passed away at 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Lima Memorial Health System in Lima, Ohio. She was born in Sidney, Ohio on February 16, 1954, a daughter of the late Marion Anthony and Betty Ann (Partington) Vonderhuevel.
On September 7, 1992, Linda married John Richard Baker in St. Augustine, Florida and he preceded her in death on May 8, 2022.
Linda is survived by her three children, Angela (Travis) Simon, Joseph (Heather) Burchett, Danielle Miller; grandchildren, Destiny (Billy), Xavier (Kayla), Jonathan (Katie), Joseph, Damien, Ashlyn, Ashton, Dominic, George, Samantha, JB, and Jacobi; and eight great grandchildren.
Linda was a retired food nutritionist who enjoyed cooking and working with children. She was a frequent contributor to the Sidney Daily News cookbook.
Linda loved Ohio State football as she was a 1976 Alumni. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in St. Augustine, Florida and enjoyed crafting and playing euchre.
Per Linda's request, there will be no public services. Inurnment will be in Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco, Ohio at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made, in Linda's memory, to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnett Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229.
