SIDNEY - Richard E. Chambliss, age 87, of Sidney, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at St. Leonard's in Centerville.
He was born on January 9, 1937, in Xenia to the late Frances Chambliss.
Richard is survived by three children: Julie (Ledean Dungey) Chambliss of Dayton, Mike (Sally) Chambliss of West Chester and Joan Chambliss of Kettering; three grandchildren: Chris (Sarah) Chambliss, Elizabeth (Ian) Birthelmer and Blake (Lainy) Chambliss; five great grandchildren; one sister: Maxine Singleton of Centerville; and former wife and mother of his children: Margaret (Szakal) Chambliss of Kettering. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife: Phyliss (Wilson) Chambliss.
Richard graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton. He was a member of Sidney VFW Post 4239 and Sidney Fraternal Order of Eagles. Richard was employed at Stolle Corporation before retiring from Copeland Corporation, both in Sidney. He was a member of Russell Road Church in Sidney.
A memorial will be held at Russell Road Church, Sidney, on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 4:00-6:00 PM. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.theadamsfuneralhome.com.
